Arpan Thapa was born on November 15, 1979, in Kathmandu, Nepal. In 2002, he pursued acting studies at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Academy in Mumbai, India. Upon returning to Nepal, he promoted a friend’s CD business at Mahabouddha, where he met director Murray Kerr, leading to his debut in the Nepali film industry.


Career

Thapa’s acting debut was in Sick City (2011), portraying the lead role of Krishna. He gained recognition for his performances in films like Batch No. 16, Chhadke, Badhshala, and Dhanda.

Transitioning into directing, Thapa’s directorial debut was Mukhauta (2014), where he also played the role of Pandit. He continued to direct and act in films such as Ghar (2019), a horror film that received mixed reviews but was noted for its contribution to the Nepali horror genre.

In Chiso Manchhe (2022), Thapa portrayed Ram, a driver assisting a family in retrieving a loved one’s body, showcasing his versatility in dramatic roles.
