Born to Bhupendra Karki and Raksha Malhotra, Priyanka Karki hails from a family with a strong educational background. She completed her schooling in Kathmandu before moving to the United States for higher education. At the University of North Alabama, she majored in Film and Digital Media Production with a minor in Theatre, graduating summa cum laude.


Career

Priyanka’s journey in the entertainment industry began when she won the Miss Teen Nepal title in 2005. She started her career as a VJ, hosting television programs such as “Ghar Beti Ba,” “The Glam Factor,” “Call and Win,” and “Glamour and Style.”

Her acting debut came in 2012 with the film “3 Lovers,” for which she received the “OFA Award for Popular Debutant Actress.” She gained widespread recognition for her roles in movies like “Jholay,” “Chhakka Panja,” “Purano Dunga,” and “Suntali.”

In addition to acting, Priyanka has showcased her singing talent with songs like “Swatantra” and the soundtrack of “Aawaran” in collaboration with Yama Buddha.

She has also directed and written several films, including “A Mero Hajur 3” and “Bir Bikram 2.”


Personal Life

Priyanka Karki was previously married to Rochak Mainali, but the couple divorced in 2013. She married fellow Nepalese film actor Ayushman DS Joshi in February 2020. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Aayanka Joshi Karki, in September 2021.
