Now, the family resides in a modest rented home in Kirtipur. Despite having only one hand, Bharat works tirelessly on a small cow farm, a venture he started with a loan he has yet to repay. His mother even sold her jewelry to support him, but he hasn’t been able to repay her either. Yet, Bharat remains optimistic, saying, “The day I win at the Paralympics, I’ll either build a house or at least rent a better home for my family.”

To sustain his family and ensure his children’s education, Bharat relies on selling milk from the farm. His day starts early when he wakes up at 4 AM to milk the cows and sells the milk before heading to the training ground by 6:30 AM. Although his dream of bringing home a Paralympic medal for Nepal drives him every single day.

His determination reflect a painful memory during his school years when a teacher publicly humiliated him because of his disability. The class’s laughter left a deep scar, but also ignited a fire within him. “One day, I will do something great,” he vowed, leaving behind his education to focus entirely on taekwondo.

At 27 years old, Bharat has been training with Nepal’s national team for 15 months. He has competed in Asian selections for the Paris Paralympics in Taiwan, China, and Vietnam. His dedication caught the eye of Coach Kabiraj, who offered to train him for free.
